International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme
In this post, i will just talk about the grade 11~12 IB programme to go to universities.
The programmes are modelled after educational systems from around the world, without being based on any particular one, incorporating both the breadth offered by some as well as the early specialisation offered by others.
It is intended for students in their final two years of secondary school, often before entering university. It is taught in 1,469 schools, to a great extent in international schools, in 121 countries (as of 2005).
There are 6 groups of subjects:
Language
Second Language
Inidviduals and society
Experimental Sciences (phy chem bio and others)
Maths
Arts
Most of us, the asians will take sciences and maths group.
The IBO works closely with universities in all regions of the world to gain recognition for the IB diploma. To aid this process, university admissions officers and government officials have direct online access to all syllabuses and recent examinations.
Students applying to a particular university may also grant permission for their grades to be accessed directly from the IBO’s secure web site.
I suggest members who feel that the normal subjects at school are easy or getting high marks, should register this programme, because it will be way more easier to get to a good University, but just needed to work very hard. I mean very very hard. And you can learn most of the stuff that will be taught around the world. Also, if you are going to US univerities, this programme will not be much effective to go into Univerities, i will post another programme later that is like IB to go into US univerities.
